The main activities that have been carried out are training and capacity building of Forest Associations; self help groups and school environmental clubs and awareness creation. Environmental awareness campaigns have also been going on through mural paintings, newspaper articles, radio programmes and environmental days celebrated in public places.

A summary of these projects is as follows:
 
April 2002-Decemebr 2004:  Reforestation project in Nyandarua and Laikipia Districts.
This targeted 37 school and 33 self-help groups. Awareness was also carried out through painting of 48 environmental murals, tree planting days and tree parties.

2003 -2007: Brush Against power saw:
This target residents and visitors to the areas around Mount Kenya World Heritage Site. The project aims to create awareness to the resident populations on the need to protect Mount Kenya’s diverse natural resources. The main outputs of the project were: Ninety three environmental murals painted, fifteen metal trees erected along roads connecting the four towns, a model of Mount Kenya with various projects around it, 5,000 brochures published 

February 2005 – February 2007:
Promotion of community-based natural resource management and enhancement of livelihoods in Laikipia and Nyandarua Districts-Kenya.
60 school environmental clubs and 57 self-help groups were involved. Awareness activities were enhanced through painting of environmental murals, tree planting days, environmental music and radio programmes. Five forest communities were mobilized and facilitated to form forest associations. The committees of these associations
